Rahul Sondhara of the WPC Wing (Department of Telecommunication), has explicitly clarified that the Amateur Radio Services Rules 2024 do not restrict ASOC holders from operating outside the location specified on their ASOC certificate.
This clarification came in response to an email query from Amitava Gupta (VU3IBL), who sought permission for a portable operation planned in the coming weeks. Amitava, a passionate amateur radio enthusiast, often explores the hobby with his wife – VU3NZZ and daughter – VU3OAC. Together, they enjoy camping and activating various parks (POTA) and beaches (BOTA) across India.
