The kv4p HT is a DIY VHF radio that enables your smartphone to communicate via voice and text entirely off-grid, requiring at least a Technician class amateur radio license. The KV4PT HT Transceiver is an open-source project that enables licensed amateur radio enthusiasts to use their Android smartphones as handie-talkies (HT). Licensed under GPL3, it allows users to freely adapt and repurpose the project as long as any modified versions are also released as open-source as per GPL3 license.
Simply connect it to your Android device through the USB-C port to turn it into a complete handheld radio transceiver. This project is entirely includes the Android app, ESP32 firmware, PCB designs, and 3D printing files.
Compact enough to carry in your pocket, it’s ideal for a go-bag or to keep in your car’s glove compartment. It has no internal battery, so it’s lightweight and ready to go anywhere.
