Split Operation

In DXing or Contesting, it’s common to use separate frequencies for transmitting and receiving. This is because multiple stations may call the same station at the same time. To avoid interference, the called station may ask callers to spread out over several kilohertz above or below their frequency. While RIT can handle this, a better approach is to set VFO A for transmitting and VFO B for receiving.

1. Enable SPLIT by tapping the SPLIT button. VFO A will now be your transmit frequency, while VFO B will be your receive frequency.
2. Switch to VFO A and set your transmit frequency. Then switch to VFO B and adjust your receive frequency.
3. During transmission, VFO A will be used. When you stop transmitting, it will automatically switch back to VFO B.
4. To end the split operation, tap the SPLIT button again.

If the A and B frequencies are far apart, you can align them by tapping the A=B button to set both to the current frequency.

To swap the transmit and receive frequencies, use the A<>B button.
